Description | Girl and youth at grave stele. Girl and youth both face stele which is in center between them. Stele is a tall shaft with a two step base and a volute finial; band of egg and dart below finial. Girl extends right hand toward stele. Youth wears black cloak with white edging. Intact. There has been considerable loss in the figured decoration since 1928 when the vase was published: flaking, especially in the area of the girl's body, and fading away elsewhere. |
