Description

Highly polished piece of ivory with carving, animal horn with incised lines at base; rim fragment(?)

Muscarella Publication: "A small, thin fragment preserving the hindquarters of a lion (or sphinx?) with a neatly incised flame pattern, cross-hatched hair below, and oblique lines at the base of the tail. A dowel hole is preserved in the flame pattern."
