Description | Rectangular. Flat lid with one end projecting upward an inch. Split and mended. Sides made from two pieces: one for back; other for 3 remaining sides (kerfed and bent), pegged and sewed to back. Bottom pegged on. Two holes on both sides three inches from top. Native cord in holes. Decoration: layer of wood planed from front corners, 4 horizontal grooves near top of front and one side. Top edge has been replaced (sewed on) other side. Black incrustation (charring?). |
