Description | Flat base, cylindrical neck. Plain. With a face on neck. Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a squat-globular body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a flat base. The vessel has a modeled/molded face on the neck with incised details. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff and gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body and neck. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base. Traces of black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "826." |
