石蓮子. Stone lotus-nuts. Seed of a variety of the lotus, named "stone lotus" from the hardness of the skin. Possessing cooling properties. From Guangdong province. Value at Guangzhou, $6.50 per picul. Dark brown/black seeds. One of a collection of samples of Chinese medicine, each in an individual glass jar sealed with cork top.
