Description | White Painted IV amphora. Very light brown clay. White slip, thick black paint. Round base, squat ovoid body, cylindrical neck, downward everted rim; two opposed horned vertical handles from lower neck to upper body, each pierced twice. Decoration: horizontal bands of cross-hatched zigzags, cross-hatched joined inverted triangles, cross-hatched joined lozenges, broken multiple (five) zigzags; on base, a ross-hatched circle; on neck, cross-hatched horizontal band framed by wavy lines and groups of three horizontal lines; wavy line on rim; handles solid. |
