Description | 590 (P. Betancourt's 1991 publication) Vessel with with straight rim, convex profile, flat bottom, one vertical handle, and open spout; three legs with thick oval to round sections. Coarse, reddish brown (2.5 YR 5/4 to 5 YR 5/4) to black clay with many white and a few dark inclusions, with decoration in white (5 YR 8/1) paint. Wiped with water. Wheelmade. One horizontal band, low on body. Intact except for lower tips of legs, handle, and chips at rim. Marked with export tag no. 72a. Signs of burning on the exterior. The tips of the three legs were broken off in antiquity. Compare Sackett and Popham 1970: 225, fig. 15, no. NP 81 (Palaikastro). Tripod. |
