Description

Cofradia cloth. Brocade on balanced weave ground, floats visible on reverse. Cotton and silk. Rows of birds and donkeys, zigzags in corner. Red ground, white, yellow, pink and gray. Selvedges and ends finished. Good condition, slight wear, some repair and staining. Paper tag #9.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 35 epi, Z twist, single ply cotton. Weft: 28 ppi, Z twist, two singles red cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. One panel, four selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom."
