Description | One huipil panel. Cream cotton ground with broad bands solidly brocaded in zigzags, rows of V's and diamond figures. All in red, orange, yellow, dark green, purple and black cotton. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 34 epi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 24 ppi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Warp is predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. One panel, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
