Description | Shape: Baggy, semiglobular jug with bridged spout and one coil handle. Fabric: Fine, red (2.5YR 5/6) clay with dark reddish brown (2.5YR 3/4) to black paint and decoration in added white (poorly preserved) and added red (poorly preserved) paint. Decoraiton: Band inside rim. Exterior painted, including resting surface. Added red paint: two sets of two bands, one on neck and one on body. Added white paint: groups of four S's between red bands on neck and body; frieze of fish, swimming to right, on shoulder; bands on spout; lines on handle; thin bands below lowest red band and on outside of lip. Condition: Restored from fragments. Added paint poorly preserved. |
