Description

Pointed at top, with protruding shelf-like base and sculptured face on front. Brow and nose of face deeply carved, angular, pattern carved on cheeks in low relief. Mouth a narrow slit. Cowrie shell eyes. Incised decoration (mostly spirals and arcs) on tablet. Black , with red and white pigment in incised decorations; red across forehead, bridge of nose, around eyes and on cheeks. [This is a tourist piece, with no reference to any traditional form*]
