Description | Thick disc foot. Very slender ovoid body continuous in profile from bottom to top of lip. trumpet-shaped lip. Strap handle attached at base of lip and on lower shoulder. Reserved: underside of foot; body from lower wall to mid-neck; lower part of handle. Otherwise covered with black glaze. On front of body (opposite handle) is a large profile head, facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap. Decoration of cap in white and incision. Features of face in incision. Below handle on back is a large black palmette. Intact. |
