Description

Original found at Herculaneum. Sleeping Faun. Seated, leaning backward, head leaning to his left, eyes closed, lips slightly open, right hand on top of head. Left arm at side. Right leg forward, left bent back. Naked. Shaggy, short hair bound with thin fillet. Two small corkscrew horns sprout from forehead. A "gland" (said to be goat's) just below chin on either side of neck. Pointed ears. No tail.
