Description

Sommerville: Jasper. Homer. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case SS.

Vermeule: Jasper. Cameo. (Unmounted) Draped bust of Haphaestis facing; a hammer behind his right shoulder. He wears his characteristic cap, and palms and rosettes appear to left and to right. Sommerville identifies the subject as HOMER. This appears to be his own error. 18th or 19th century.
