Description | Woodblock print of battle scene from Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5. Japanese soldiers defeating Chinese soldiers in hand to hand combat as mounted Japanese officers enter from the right. In the upper right hand corner an inscription gives the title: "In Sudden Attack and Massacre, Pyongyang Falls" and in the opposite corner is the name of the artist and publisher: Toshihide and Tsujioka Bunsuke. Triptych with three sheets of paper glued together. |
