Description

Fiddle. Wood, slightly waisted body, membrane sound surface. Neck as wide as body, tapering slightly to heavy square peg box. 24 lateral pegs in side of neck in 3 rows(9,8,7), middle row extending through neck. Wire strings internally attached to pegs coming out through ivory rimmed hole in neck front. 4 large knobbed pegs for heavy gut strings(2 each side of pegbox). 10 small pegs at front of pegbox and 4 at one side for wire strings passing over 2 sets of ivory bridges. Ivory bridge on membrane surface. Ivory-faced string holder at base of body. Ivory trim around neck edge. Wood carved at body base and near neck. Wooden tuning stick attached on cord. Instrument in bright colored cloth sack. Good condition with broken membrane, 1 string missing, 1 lateral peg missing, brdige broken, a few metal strings broken.
