Newcombe calls it a memorial pole. Figures are probably a combination selected by a member of the Raven Family at Massett. From bottom: seated bear-mother eating sea-lion. Small figure between her ears is her near cub. Full-length raven has disjointed beak tongued into a groove 8" x 4 1/2. Seated on raven's head is human, probably chief, wearing dance-hat is four skyls (evidence of his wealth).
