Description | White plain weave cotton with white, green, yellow and grey brocading. Three breadths of material. Central panel is the most heavily brocaded with bands of chevrons, diamonds and triangles. Design groups are spaced closely together in the central panel and more widely in the side panels. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 36 epi, single ply, Z twist, one strand, white cotton. Weft: single ply, Z twist, two strands, white cotton with heavier bands of multiple white cotton. Balanced plain weave. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
