Description | Tomb 2A = Herscher Tomb 802A. Red polished III jar. Evenly fired orange-brown clay with large black inclusions. Thick but uneven lustrous dark red-orange to brown slip. Flat base, globular body, wide cylindrical neck, downward everted rim; two small narrow vertical handles from lower neck to upper body. Incised decoration: horizontal multiple zigzag and cross-hatched band on body, a vertical multiple (five) zigzag below each handle, horizontal wavy line at neckline; on neck, horizontal cross-hatched band and wavy line, vertical row of hatching above each handle; wavy line on rim.
