Description | Round; straight sides and flat bottom. Wrapped twining except for bottom which is first plaited cedar bark and then twined with bark warps and grass wefts. Remainder of basket: marsh grass(?), some dyed brownish-purple (probably aniline); yellow is squaw grass. Decoration: two panels at top and bottom of bands of brown, yellow, brown and diagonal parallelograms. Rim: finished with dark braid and free-standing wrapped loops of brown and light brown. |
