Description | White cotton with red and green compound stripes, three pieces without randa, round neck with appliqued red braid, upper sides embroidered with broad and narrow red cross stripes forming a plaid, small quadrangles of blue, orange and cerise, upper center front and back heavily embroidered in red with pin stripes and small yellow and blue quadrangles, red cotton thread-madder dye [Robert Carlsen 1984]. As per Sigird Meier, "Warp: 64 epi, single ply white, Z twist and 2 single - red, yellow and green, Z twist cotton. Weft: 28 ppi, single ply, Z twist, white cotton. Warp: plain weave. Supplemental weft: single faced. 3 panels - 4 selvedges each. Made on a backstrap loom." |
