Description | Black bucchero, completely reduced except for reddish buff core on foot. Made in three separate sections (foot, stand, dish) joined by crude application of heavy clay around seams, on inside. Base concave profile, sharpened and spreading; stand a hollow cylinder flaring toward top and having a molded swelling near base. Dish concave on top with extended thickened rim, pinched to be both standing and pendent. Floor of dish in two degrees. Hand-polished over all; vertically on stand, on wheel horizontally around all moldings and on floor. |
