Description | Unfinished cotton huipil. Red ground heavily brocaded in geometric designs of purple, green, blue, yellow, white and red. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 52 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 27 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp is predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is single faced. Two panels, three selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
