Description

Sommerville: Oriental alabaster. A group of Jewish prisoners. Their arms are bound behind them. (From the Zanetti collection). Cameos, Case MMMM.

Vermeule: Oriental alabaster. Cameo. Three Parthian prisoners walking to left or (two Parthians led by a Roman legionary). The scene is based on one of the Zoccolo reliefs of the Arch of Septimius Severus in the Forum Romanum.
