Description

Man's dance headdress (on kawa) (sulphur crested cockatoo). hat style, frame of fiber and corrugated cardboard. Feathers run front to back. Worn at danda dance, which was borrowed from the Awin/Aekyom. Made by Philatus Yonggomman, Kombut clan, Kombut village, Irian Jaya, living in Yogi refugee camp. Purchased from maker 4/30/89.
