Description

Black and white with a little brown. Long narrow strip with slight border on sides. The design is in 17 sections of which 13 have black background with bands of white geometric forms; the other 4 have a black and brown rectilinear figure on white background.

Letter from Sir Brien to Dr. Wright 15 July, 1949: "The enclosed strip made in one of the small Islands to the South of the Fiji Group, was included among the ceremonial offerings presented to me, in accordance with Fijian traditional custom, when I visited those Islands last year."
