Description | Large pearl. Irregular conical shape, with roughly circular brown markings on one side. Discovered in an unusually large clam, one of a bag of clams brought as a gift to the collector’s house in Wonip Village by a man named Achi, known as a good spear fisherman and gatherer of clams, who was also a cook in the local school feeding program. The clams were cut into thin slices, marinated with lime juice, soy sauce and peppers and eaten with rice and coconuts by the collector, Achi, and other men from the village. |
