Description | Carved wooden figure of an emaciated man. A modern example of the traditional Easter Island "ribbed figure," faithful in all details to older prototypes except that it is significantly larger (71.6 cm., as compared to a 43.5 cm. example collected in the 1870s). Carved in 2003 by Easter Island artist Benedicto Tuki Pate. |
