Description
Lid for feather box P3112.3. Long oval, with carved heads (1/2 on lid, 1/2 on bottom) as handles. Surface decoration consisting of dog-tooth notches and parallel ridges (rauponga) - multiple spirals. Bottom and lid equally deep - hard to tell which is which. "Steel tools. Heads have ridges on foreheads which suggest northern origin."
