Description | Statue of a standing Buddha in the style of the Ayutthaya period. This is a folk type of Buddha with possible influence from Luang Phrabang, Laos. The right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, which represents the gesture of fearlessness, or in the Thai style "pacifying the relatives". The statue is gilded with traces of pigment. |
