Description | Shiva's family. Jodhpur School. A three eyed Shiva holding a trident and antelope is covered in snakes seated against a flowering tree atop a tiger skin. The Ganges flows from the top of his head. Parvati is on the left offering a drink. Both of their heads are surrounded by nimbuses of gold and green. The tree is filled with birds and monkeys. In the background is a white palace possibly representing their home on Mount Kailasa. The figures on the right are cut off but are most likely attendants. |
