Description
Gray bark cloth with lines of black fiber. Triangular water marks (Kaeppler). Acquired by the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “Waterproof dress of oiled ‘tapa.’ Male attire.” on Peale list. Ka Hana Kapa #397.
