Description | Painted. shoulder melon fluted; neck flaring; one vertical loop handle shoulder to neck. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The body has vertical ridges at regular intervals. The vessel has vertical ridges around the body and is painted with bands of red and geometric designs in black and white. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1112." |
