Description | Round; flat bottom; flaring sides; bttom starts with plaiting, then simple twining, and sides are wrapped in twining. All in marsh(?) grass. has two bands of brownish-purple around bottom and top, and two of red in middle. Purple may be native dye probably from berries (white bark raspberry?); red probably aniline. Edge braided and topped with free standing loops, some purple and some light. |
