Description

Green Agate. (Modern Gilt ring setting) A female (Aphrodite?) crouching to right, a jug held on her right knee and a wreath ? in her raised left hand. The scene is derived from Hellenistic representation of the Crouching Aphrodite. Late Hellenistic or Graeco-Roman. The stone was damaged during course of cutting and too much was removed from Aphrodite's back.
