Old ruins. Interesting wall (Herat). Loom: stone warp weights: note length of warp: hand operated and powered. Large hand-operated reeling wheel. Ruins of old Herat: towers, walls, bits of mosaic. Market. Paintings by artist Ghory Tayman: 17 shots, several depicting ancient or medieval life (cu). Embroidery: 3 pieces (mcu, cu, xcu for each). Illuminated book of Mogul period, sixteenth century (mcu). Mr. Tayman's stone collection. Columns, some with old tile work: 4 on right are Mussalla (Seventeenth Century), 2 on left are Moghul (Shahrukh Merzh). Minaret: pan to top: note "band" in courses of small bricks. Tomb of Goharshad: design at top (distant). View outside tomb wall : ribbed, tiled brick hemisphere (100 mm) Dome from tomb courtyard inside the wall. Views around perimeter of tomb. Top of tomb.
