Clio Society is the Penn Museum’s undergraduate student interest group. All undergraduate students are welcome to join! Our goal is to help fellow undergrads get involved with this amazing resource on campus. Members can train to become Museum docents, volunteer for Museum programming, invite guest speakers, organize events for students, and attend Clio-sponsored visits to other museums. Clio brings together students who share a common interest in and appreciation for museums, culture, and art. Members will gain a greater understanding of world cultures, arts and culture professions, and the museum field. We promote student awareness of the Museum’s collection, exhibitions, and resources, and host a wide variety of programs and special events specifically for students. Members also collaborate with other student organizations to host events at the Museum, including workshops, readings, and performances. Mission statement: Clio Society encourages Penn undergrads to get involved with the Penn Museum and take advantage of its resources. During our After Hours events, students can explore the Museum at their own pace, learn about interesting aspects of the Museum’s collections, and participate in arts & craft activities, scavenger hunts, tours, and more.
