The Golden Gala at the Penn Museum

Saturday, November 9, 2019

Penn Museum, 3260 South Street, Philadelphia PA 19104

We invite you to join us on Saturday, November 9, for the very first preview of our new Penn Museum—a once-in-a-century gala celebration.

Schedule
6:30 PM Cocktail reception and Building Transformation Preview
7:45 PM Dinner
9:30 PM Dance Party and Dessert Buffet

The Penn Museum—America’s museum of the ancient world right here at the heart of our city—is undergoing a major transformation. Spectacular new Middle East Galleries opened to international acclaim last spring. The rest of its main level—dramatic new galleries of Africa, Mexico and Central America, and an entirely new Main Entrance Gallery with the fourth largest ancient sphinx in the world at its heart—reopens this November, bigger, brighter, and with stories and artifacts that tell us about our human heritage and experience like no other museum in the country.

As a gala guest, be the very first to explore more than 10,000 square feet of reimagined space; encounter the stories of objects from African maker to the Museum and the Penn Museum’s role in uncovering the secrets of Maya glyph writing, and enjoy the Museum’s shining new visitor amenities and warm, international welcome. This Golden Gala—our third biennial glittering event—is the Museum’s moment to shine, the moment to unveil our new Penn Museum for special guests like you.
