Welcome to Penn Museum’s Year of Egypt!

In 2006, Penn Museum unveils Amarna, Ancient Egypt’s Place in the Sun, a new exhibition about the boyhood home of Tutankhamun—and completes refurbishments to the Upper and Lower Egyptian galleries.

In February 2007 Philadelphia's Franklin Institute opened “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs,” the traveling blockbuster exhibition curated by Dr. David Silverman, Curator in Charge of Penn Museum’s Egyptian collections.

It's a great year to indulge your interest and passion in Ancient Egypt, and Penn Museum can help with a full year of Egypt programming to suit all ages and interests.

Our Year of Egypt calendar of events will be updated throughout the year!
