About Expedition Magazine

Expedition magazine is published three times each year, offering peer-reviewed articles on the latest findings of archaeologists and anthropologists in the field and in the labs–many of them the Penn Museum’s own scholars–and on upcoming Penn Museum exhibitions and new galleries. Expedition also provides a window into the labs, classrooms, archives, and—most of all—the people of the Penn Museum.

Members receive print copies mailed to their home and a “flippable” electronic copy in their inbox. Join here to receive upcoming issues and an email link to the three most recent issues still in the member-exclusivity year.

Expedition (ISSN 0014-4738) has been published by the Penn Museum since 1958. This website provides a free online archive inviting you to browse all Expedition magazine content outside of the member-exclusivity year by issue, by author, or by region.
