Description | Red polished III askos. Fine light orange clay. Thick matt red-orange to brown slip. Cylindrical column base with solid flaring foot; torpedo-shaped body, cylindrical neck with beak spout at end of body; vertical handle from rim to top of body. Incised decoration: on top of body, two horizontal multiple zigzags; horizontal band of alternate hatching either side, two pairs of lines across bottom; herringbones on bottom of body and base; on neck, multiple zigzag framed by groups of horizontal lines. |
