Description | Kotyle. Slightly spreading ring foot. Horizontal loop handles set just below rim. Interior solidly glazed but for narrow reserved band at rim. Exterior: fine line at rim. Main frieze: on both sides, siren with displayed wings flanked by sirens with curled wings. Frieze bordered below by two narrow lines thickened in places. Below main frieze, wider bands and rays in base zone. Foot decorated in manner of those on "ray kotylai." Inner face of foot and all but its lower outer edge glazed. Underside of foot, wheel-painted deoration: at center, circle & dot encircled successively by fine glazed line and a fairly broad glazed band. Intact. |
