Description

Sommerville: Carnelian. Lucius Verus, seventeenth Emperor of Rome. Intaglios and Their Imprints, Case DDD.

Vermeule: Carnelian ringstone. Intaglio. (Unmounted) Draped bearded bust of a man, probably of the Roman second century, facing to right. The features resemble the Emperor Lucius Verus, (A.D. 161-169) but they appear to be those of a private citizen. Roman, IInd century.
