Description

Sommerville: Antique Paste Intaglio, color pale topaz. A Head and representation of a ring. Probably worn as a medallion by a slave who had not the right to wear a ring. Antique Pastes, Case TTT.

Vermeule: Glass paste, imitating pale Topaz. Intaglio. (Unmounted) Female head facing to right, surrounded by flowers (poppies?) and set on a ring seen in profile. Graeco-Roman, probably a ringstone connected with marriage ceremonies.
