Description | About half preserved in logitudinal section. _MP_ 22, Fig. 3, Form 7:31 (cf. esp. C478 and _Toronto_, no. 70, but the absolutely flat base from which the sides rise almost perpendicularly is unusual (cf. W. Taylour, _Mycenaean Pottery in Italy_, Cambridge, 1958, Pl. 9:6). Mrs. Sara Immerwahr calls my attention to a somehwat similar shape from Rhodes (_MPL_, Pl. I;9). Vertical strap handles iwth center rib and round metallic-looking tab for attaching to body. Clay: pink to buff and light green at surface; well cleaned, lustrous surface. Paint: matt to lustrous (in patches) light. |
