Description

Globular body, flaring neck ; one vertical loop handle shoulder to neck. Small; ordinary.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip and incised/stamped circles on the handle. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the Evidence of usewear includes residues/staining on the exterior. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "836."
