Description | Leg band (yeet, type yon yeet) (yeet= band, yon = leg). Plaited cane (type yeet nong) band, made and worn by men. Worn just below the knee, everyday and ceremonial. A bone awl is used in the plaiting. Made by Kobarara Yangkap, Namat clan, Kombut village. Irian Jaya, living in Dome refugee camp. Gift from maker 4/11/89. |
