Description | Reddish-buff, rather gritty clay with a greenish-black, metallic glaze. Lower part of the stem and foot missing. Handles originally a pair on each side - 3 or 4 are missing. The remaining one rises from the belly to the ridge below the rim. No plastic decoration as such. The strip of clay forming the handle is curved to form the horn-like projection characteristic of this shape at the top, and continued at the bottom around the belly for a short distance. |
