Description:
Marriage of Herakles and Hebe. Circular scene on top of lid. Reading from left to right: Herakles leads Hebe by the hand. He carries club in right hand. She wears white dress, embroidered; an Eros adjusts her veil; a large bird on ground. Eros carries torch in front of bridal couple. Girl carrying torch. Athena seated. Hera standing and Zeus seated. Eros and thymiaterion. Rectangular chest on ground. Two girls, one carrying box, the other a loutrophoros-hydria Chest. Intact save for minor fragments restored in plaster. Bronze ring in center of top.
