Vermeule: Jasper Onyx. Cameo. (Modern gold pendant setting). Bust of a man facing, sword belt across left shoulder bears letters B R F. Sommerville terms the likeness "Vespanianus, the 9th Emperor of Rome." but the features suggest some Hellenistic portrait not unlike the so-called Menander type. Late 18th or early 19th.
